Lifestyle Breakthrough operate a ground breaking medical and allied health consulting service throughout Australia. With unique collaborations between medical specialists and allied health, Lifestyle Breakthrough are at the forefront of care for those with chronic health conditions, most notably diabetes, obesity, gastrointestinal health and cardiac conditions.
With staff committed to ongoing medical and health advances, Lifestyle Breakthrough conduct its own research projects and participate in external research project. Collaborating with numerous research groups, including leading universities such as Monash University.

Andrew Gode

Andrew has a passion for health and sport which has helped shape his career pathway to working as an Exercise Physiologist. He is an exceptional cricketer and been part of the QLD state cricked squad for numerous years. Andrew enjoys working with local sports clubs and schools to help develop their health and fitness, as well as work on their specific sports technique and functional ability. He also provides enjoyable and engaging group and individual sessions for older adults.

Away from work Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife, playing representative cricket and also likes to play as much golf as he can.

Amy undertook her physician training at Prince of Wales and Westmead Hospitals in Sydney, and is an
Endocrinologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians. She set up the first Endocrinology
clinics at Dubbo Base Hospital, as well as their guidelines for the management of inpatient diabetes and
diabetes in pregnancy. Since moving to Melbourne, Amy works in private practice, as well as public clinics at the Alfred and Sandringham hospitals. She continues to provides telemedicine consultations to clients in NSW and rural Victoria.

Amy welcomes referrals in all aspects of clinical endocrinology, including her specialty areas of type 1 and 2 diabetes management, insulin pump therapy and thyroid disease.

Fiona graduated from Monash University with Honours and completed her specialist physician training in both Endocrinology and General Medicine at the Alfred Hospital. This combined specialist training, unique in the field, allows Fiona to more holistically and comprehensively treat clients. Fiona continues to work at the Alfred Hospital, allowing her to remain actively involved in teaching junior doctors and medical students. Fiona also offers Telehealth consultations across Australia to eligible areas.

Fiona welcomes referrals in all aspects of endocrinology including her specialty areas of diabetes (including gestational diabetes), women’s health, PCOS, thyroid disease and obstetric endocrinology.

Dr Lee is a consultant Endocrinologist and Specialist Physician at Lifestyle Breakthrough. Aside from consulting from Lifestyle Breakthrough privately in Caulfield, Daylesford and Gisborne, he also works at Monash Medical Centre. To round off his extensive commitment to providing clients with the best care, Kevin remains heavily involved in research with Monash University on topics such as stress, weight management, diabetes and mindfulness.

Kevin specialises in diabetes care, thyroid conditions, hormonal imbalances, stress and weight management. He also works as a specialist physician, offering his time to the Port Hedland community where he assists with aboriginal health.

Julia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. As a mother of two, Julia brings not only her nutritional knowledge, but also personal experience to assist parents and young children improve their health. Apart from just seeing individuals, Julia also delivers various group education sessions to promote healthy eating.

Outside of work Julia enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. Julia also has a love of food and enjoys making the most of Melbourne’s many wonderful restaurants and cafes.

Julia specialises in paediatrics and antenatal/ postnatal nutritional health, however she is also very experienced in managing many different health conditions. She is able to help with:

Julian is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with a passion for helping those with musculoskeletal conditions and chronic conditions. He enjoys helping clients make achievable and realistic changes to reach their goal. Through his exceptional rehabilitation sessions, to guiding those with chronic conditions to improve their health and prevent additional co-morbidities, through to helping clients lose weight. Julian helps his clients achieve this through both individual and group sessions.

Julian enjoy getting outdoors, running, playing football and watching AFL and EPL. He pairs his love of sport and outdoors by also helping clients with high performance goals. Julian is able to create and develop high performance exercise and rehabilitation plans for clients of all ages.

Kathleen has always been interested in sports, health and fitness and has carried her interests into her profession. She has been working as an Exercise Physiologist for the past 5 years specialising in a variety of conditions including Type 2 Diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions and general fitness.

Kathleen has special interests in those with neurological conditions and has vast experience in treating and working with people with Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and anklylosing spondilytis.

Kathleen is very passionate to help people improve and meet their health and fitness goals and looks forward to improving quality of life for all individuals, across all age groups.

Kristi is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with experience working in rehabilitation hospital settings alongside private practice. She is passionate about helping clients experience the positive physiological and psychological effects of exercise. Alongside working 1:1 with individuals suffering from chronic disease, she has been involved with the running of oncology, weight management, diabetes, and falls prevention programs.

Kristi enjoys spending her downtime jogging and exploring the outdoors. The beach is her ‘happy place’, and whilst she is currently learning to surf, it is with little prevail.

With a background as an Exercise Physiologist and an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Nathan is focussed on multidisciplinary health care. With a passion for helping people improve their health and lifestyles, he feels it is best done by engaging a group of health professionals to cover all lifestyle aspects.

As part of his focus, he helped set up and manages Lifestyle Breakthrough’s team which encompasses several allied health and medical disciplines. It not only allows him to help people with chronic health conditions, but also in preventing conditions developing. As a Dietitian, he focuses on more complex and chronic condition and weight management as well as providing regular group talks.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 little kids, watching his beloved hawks and playing golf when he gets a chance.

Barbora is a Specialist Physician and leading researcher in Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. Barbora also works as a General Medicine Physician at Monash Medical Centre and as a Specialist Physician in the Obesity and Diabetes clinics at Monash Medical Centre.

Barbora has held several research fellowships in Australia and overseas.  She has expertise across from translational research to clinical practice where she specialises in the prevention and treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases.

Tom is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with a Masters in Clinical Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. Working for several years as an AEP in two Geelong private practices, he has also been involved with Victoria University as part of a cardiac research team. Tom is also a qualified massage therapist, but focuses on his AEP work.

Tom’s passion lies in cardiovascular and musculoskeletal conditions; however he enjoys working with individuals that have a variety of chronic conditions, using evidence-based exercise prescription from the latest research available. Focussed on correct technique and form, Tom ensures that you minimise the chances of any re-injury or new injury while you exercise.

Outside of work he loves surfing, watching sports and catching up with family & friends. As an AEP, Tom specialises in:
